The study examined the accessibility and utilization of electronic information resources for research by academic staff in universities in Benue State, Nigeria. The study was guided by 4 objectives and 4 research questions. The study adopted descriptive survey research design with a population of 1863 academic staff in universities in Benue State, Nigeria. The sample size comprised 329 academic staff determined through Taro Yamen sampling formula. The instrument for data collection was a structured questionnaire designed by the researchers titled Questionnaire on Accessibility and Utilization of Electronic Information Resources for Research by Academic Staff (QAUEIRRAS)”. Data collected was analyzed using Mean and Standard Deviation and presented on the Table. Finding revealed that the electronic information resources are accessed and utilized by academic staff for research in universities in Benue State, Nigeria. The finding also revealed that there are challenges associated with the utilization of electronic information resources by academic staff in universities in Benue State, Nigeria. Based on the finding, it was recommended that universities in Benue State, Nigeria should ensure that electronic information resources that are required by academic staff are provided with easy accessibility and utilization for improved research and that challenges encountered in the utilization of electronic information resources should be properly addressed to guaranty more accessibility and utilization of these resources by academic staff in universities in Benue State, Nigeria for improved research.
