More on Factors Affecting the Market for Hardwood Flooring

Abstract A recursive model of the hardwood flooring market, earlier fitted with data from 1947 to 1958, was re-examined through use of new data covering 1958 through 1963. As before, monthly data were used and the time span divided into three periods. In general the results obtained from the analysis for 1958-1961 closely parallel those of the earlier study. The price equations, however, indicate that a substantial change in the structure of the industry may have occurred since 1958.
