Abstract For two nonnegative matrices, we derive an improved lower bound for the spectral radius of the Schur product. Our bound incorporates the trace of the Schur product as well as the non-diagonal elements, leading to a tighter estimate compared to existing results. To validate our theoretical findings, we present numerical experiments demonstrating the effectiveness of the proposed bound.
