A new study published in the Journal of Clinical Psychiatry suggests that ketamine and esketamine may significantly reduce emergency department (ED) visits related to suicidality in individuals with treatment‐resistant depression (TRD). The six‐month mirror‐image study tracked patients before and after receiving acute treatment with either ketamine or esketamine, revealing a striking decline in suicidality‐associated ED utilization.
