Aim. The article examines the problematic aspects of preparing initial data and knowledge for use in intelligent decision support systems when developing automated control systems for complex technical systems in the context of a rapidly changing environment of modern knowledge-intensive industries and limitations of time, material and information resources. Results. A system analysis of the current state of affairs in the use and modernization of decision support systems was conducted. The need for automation of planning processes for their creation and modernization using the fundamental principles of artificial intelligence theory was determined. Requirements and initial provisions for the formalization and design of intelligent decision support systems using tools for working with data and knowledge were formed. Conclusions. The proposed content technology for designing intelligent decision support systems has great potential in the further stages of constructing an interdisciplinary theory of integrated monitoring and control of the structural dynamics of complex technical systems.
