Digital creativity has become a key driver enabling smart tourism destinations to craft distinctive visitor experiences and build differentiated competitiveness. Using a systematic literature review, we retrieved and evaluated 66 studies highly relevant to digital creativity in smart tourism destinations, and for the first time reveal the field's frontier developments and knowledge gaps. This study clarifies: (1) research hotspots, disciplinary outlets, research types, and research subjects; (2) antecedents, multilevel structure, operating mechanisms, and outcomes; and (3) directions for future research. On this basis, we construct a research framework for digital creativity in smart tourism destinations to promote the systematic development of related theory and practice.
