Abstract. The relevance of the problem posed in the article is due to the need to understand Magomed Mamakaev's work from the perspective of its importance in shaping the cultural, educational and literary paradigm of the Chechen people of the 1920s and 70s. The purpose of the research in the article is to understand the work of M. Mamakaev and his role in creating the historical and cultural paradigm of Chechen society in the 1920s and 70s. The work uses biographical, cultural, historical and descriptive research methods, which made it possible to clarify many aspects of the writer's personality, the tragic vicissitudes of his life, creative evolution, and his contribution to the formation of culture, literature, and enlightenment in the republic. The article outlines the specifics of the author's artistic system, based primarily on the genres of prose and poetry. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the fact that it attempts to take a retrospective look at many well-known facts of the writer's creative and personal fate from the height of the current cultural and historical time. In addition, the article suggests the idea of considering M. Mamakaev's novel "Zelimkhan" in typological unity with the novel "Date Tutashkhia" by the Georgian writer Chabua Amirajibi (there is every reason to assume that the Georgian author knew the story of Zelimkhan and used it in his novel. This is confirmed by the many character traits of the main characters in the novels, which unite them as typologically similar people. The similarity of the storylines, events, and much more speaks in favor of the idea put forward). The text of the article also uses new sources that shed light on the personality and creativity of the national author.
