Abstract. This paper examines the role of morphological changes in the formation of new terms in Russian and Arabic. The relevance of this research is determined by the need to study the mechanisms of adaptation of languages to a dynamically developing scientific and technical field. The focus is on the main morphological processes involved in the formation of new vocabulary: affixation, composition, addition and conversion. The comparative analysis makes it possible to identify typological features and universal patterns of word formation, which contributes to an in-depth understanding of the processes of linguistic adaptation. Particular importance is attached to morphological changes in the context of scientific communication, where terminological accuracy is critically important. The work contains material demonstrating the results of morphological processes in the formation of terminology.
