Abstract

The title of this paper does not refer to the discussion and analysis of architectural realizations in the field of building cultural institutions. The research is dedicated to some theoretical works that discussed cultural-political platforms and architectural concepts of the planning and implementation of the network of institutions in which educational, entertainment, and cultural programs took place. The paper presents critical observations related to the texts of architects that were published in the Zagreb magazine "Arhitektura" No. 158/9 of 1976. The papers critically discuss ethical problems, statistical data, methods of financing, problems of architectural design, maintenance problems, monitoring of European trends in the construction of cultural institutions, and more. The course discusses two works by architect and professor Dragan Ilić, who, during his long professional practice, was very dedicated to designing and building a large number of cultural centers, including the House of Revolution in Prijepolje.
