Chinas rapid population aging presents both a challenge and an opportunity for economic development. This paper adoptsv literature review and case study that examines the nexus between the silver economy in China and tourism development. The study explores that at the impact of the increasing aging population, which is expected to be more than 400 million by 2035, on tourism demand and the innovation in age-friendly travel services. The paper concludes that the silver economy has generated specific market niches in the tourism industry, spurred technological advancements and elicited government policy interventions. Nevertheless, the issue of infrastructure gaps, digital divides, and regional disparities is still a major problem. It helps clarify how demographic changes can drive sectoral transformation and provides insights for formulating inclusive tourism policies that benefit both the elderly as consumers and the economy.
