Abstract. Introduction. Among all chronic diseases of the ENT organs, chronic suppurative otitis media (CSOM) is the most common pathology. In the vast majority of cases, CSOM requires surgical treatment aimed at sanitizing the focus of chronic infection and restoring hearing function. The use of autogenous materials is the gold standard for reconstructive ear surgery. However, to date, there is a wide range of technologies for improving alloplastic materials, particularly titanium. Purpose of the study. To analyze the functional differences in the use of artificial and autoprosthesis in ossiculoplasty. Patients and methods. Within this study, a detailed analysis of the best world practices for obtaining and depositing various types of coatings on titanium products implanted in humans was conducted, and some techniques for applying bioactive materials were tested and refined. Results. When analyzing the results of using artificial and autoprosthesis in ossiculoplasty, no functional differences were noted. At the same time, if autologous cartilage covering of the artificial prosthesis is not used, its displacement increases 6 times. Discussion. To date, there is a wide range of technologies used to improve alloplastic materials, particularly titanium, which makes them indispensable for conducting ossiculoplastic surgeries.
