Introduction: Chronic common low back pain is a public health problem because of its frequency and its consequences in the workplace. The objective of this study was to determine the prevalence and factors associated with chronic common low back pain among health care workers. Methodology: This was a cross-sectional, descriptive and analytical study from February 1 to November 10, 2020. It concerned health workers (doctor, nurse/midwife) of the reference hospitals of Niamey. The data were collected on a pre-established individual survey form and then entered and analysed using the Epi info software. Results: The prevalence of chronic common low back pain was 71.42%. The mean age of low back pain was 37.49(±8.42) years with extremes ranging from 23 to 57 years. Female sex was predominant in 78% with a sex ratio of 0.28. It appears from this study that 39% consulted at some point in the course of low back pain, medical care was necessary in most cases. Age, sex, body mass index, the notion of trauma, as well as the practice of sport were statistically associated with chronic common low back pain. Conclusion: this study showed a high prevalence and socio-professional impact of Chronic Common Low Back Pain among health workers in hospitals. Keywords: Low back pain, health workers, Niger.
