Adequate nutrition during childhood, especially at school age, is crucial for supporting optimal growth, health, and well-being. The high rate of child malnutrition is largely attributed to parents’ lack of understanding regarding balanced nutrition. This community service activity aims to enhance parental knowledge through nutrition education based on the “Isi Piringku” (My Plate’s Content) program. The activity was conducted at SDN Keliling Benteng Tengah and SDN Keliling Benteng Ulu 2, utilizing lectures, demonstrations, practical training with food models, and evaluation. The results demonstrated a significant increase in parental knowledge regarding the practice of providing balanced nutrition based on “Isi Piringku,” with a difference between pre-test and post-test scores of 28.3% (p = 0.001). In conclusion, “Isi Piringku”-based education is effective in improving parental understanding of school-age child nutrition. The recommendations from this activity include the necessity for continuous training and strengthening the role of school nutrition cadres to support program sustainability and broaden the positive impact within the Martapura Riverbank community.
