Cultural Diplomacy of the Republic of Korea in Relation to China: Specific Traits of Implementation

The article examines the specific traits of the implementation of cultural diplomacy of the Republic of Korea in China since the beginning of the spread of the Korean wave in the People’s Republic of China in the second half of the 1990s. China is not only the closest neighbor of the Republic of Korea but also the state from which 36the spread of the Korean wave started. The author pays special attention to the specific features of the countries’ cooperation in the cultural sphere at the present stage; reveals various areas of cultural activity of the Republic of Korea in the People’s Republic of China and assesses the factors that hinder the full development of bilateral relations in the cultural field.
