Purpose: This study aims to understand the impact of academic and vocational education on women's empowerment within the cultural context of southern Punjab, Pakistan. Women in this region often encounter various challenges that limit their ability to exercise their rights fully, making it essential to examine the role of education in promoting their empowerment. Design and Methodology: The research employed a quantitative design and utilized a convenience sampling method to gather data from 384 women affiliated with academic institutions and vocational training centers across southern Punjab. Data collection was conducted via structured questionnaires, covering dimensions of empowerment, educational background, and cultural influences. Findings: The results reveal that both academic and vocational education contribute positively to women's empowerment. However, cultural factors play a significant role, with supportive cultural environments encouraging empowerment, while restrictive norms and traditions in less supportive cultures pose barriers. Implications: These findings provide actionable insights for policymakers and educators aiming to enhance women's empowerment through targeted educational interventions. Strategies that cultivate a supportive cultural environment are crucial for maximizing the impact of both academic and vocational education on women’s empowerment, particularly in culturally sensitive regions.
