The concept of Srotas in Ayurveda denotes the subtle channels responsible for the transportation of various substances within the body. Among them, Swedavaha Srotas play a vital role in thermoregulation and excretion of sweat. The Mulasthana (root) of these channels are Meda Dhatu (fat tissue) and Loma Kupa (hair follicles). Factors such as excessive exercise (Vyayama), overexposure to heat (Atisantapa), irregular exposure to hot and cold, and emotional disturbances like anger, grief, and fear can vitiate these channels. This study explores the interrelationship between Swedavaha Srotas and Jwara (fever) as described in classical Ayurvedic texts.
