The application of nanotechnology and nanomaterials has led to massive changes in the field of forensic sciences making them indispensable in modern times. Latent fingerprinting, DNA analysis, explosive detection, illegal document elucidation, detection of drug and estimation of time since death (TSD) are the aspects that have been discussed in this paper. A comparative study with older methods of detection reveals that new methodologies yield specific results in a much shorter span of time along with greater accuracy.
