Forensics is a unique environment in which to conduct a vocational interview. Litigation presents challenges that affect the quality and type of the information obtained from the evaluee above and beyond what most vocational rehabilitation counselors encounter in a standard initial vocational evaluation interview. This paper will examine the components of a forensic vocational interview and provide the vocational rehabilitation professional with strategies to conduct a tho.rough, ?bjective in~ rvi w. We incorporate data from a survey of forensic vocational rehab1litat1on professionals to address best practices on how to prepare for the interview establish a conducive environment, use disclosure forms, and manage ~hallenging evaluees to ensure the quality and objectivity of the interview.
