Objective. To present the managerial experience of introducing the position of Chief of Diagnostic Services in regional multidisciplinary clinical institutions and to conduct a functional analysis of the responsibilities and competencies associated with this role. Materials and Methods. The study includes data from two state clinical hospitals in the Tyumen Region, where the new managerial role of Chief of Diagnostic Services was implemented between 2024 and 2025. The methodology involved content analysis of the job description, expert assessment of organizational effects, and comparative analysis of functional relationships between departments before and after the implementation of the position. Results. The introduction of the position improved coordination between laboratory, instrumental, and radiological diagnostics, enhanced the management of quality processes, optimized interaction between clinical and paraclinical units, and reduced the number of conflicts between them. Conclusion. The proposed managerial model proved effective in the context of a regional multidisciplinary healthcare institution. The position of Chief of Diagnostic Services may become a strategic link in the digital transformation of diagnostics and in healthcare quality management systems.
