ABSTRACT In the framework of ‐metric‐like environments, this work offers a broader new concept of weakly quasi‐C‐contractive operators. By reformulating a few known assumptions, one investigates the existence and uniqueness requirements of fixed points for such operators. We build nontrivial comparative instances to validate the claims generating the primary notions here. Underlined and explained are several corollaries indicating that the concept of this paper subsumes a few related ones in the literature. One of the main results of this work has applicable relevance in creating benchmarks for the solvability of a particular kind of integral equation, namely, the Fredholm‐type equation.
