This study aims to assess the Knowledge and Awareness of Primary Teeth and their importance among Rural and Urban Parents in Indore city. The questionnaire consisted of two parts. The first part consisted of the general demo (demographic data),and the second part included closed questions which assessed the knowledge and awareness regarding primary dentition. The majority of the parents (74%) believed that extraction was the only viable option for treating the affected tooth, while only around 26% disagreed. This reluctance stemmed from a number of factors, including taboos around extraction, beliefs about how the child's eyes and brain would be impacted, expenses, procedures that could injure the child or the fact that the primary tooth will eventually fall out. The study revealed that the knowledge and awareness about primary dentition and its importance are inadequate among parents. The motivation of parents regarding the prevention and treatment needs of primary teeth and their preservation till their normal exfoliation through dental camps or educational programs by dental professionals is highly desired.
