To assess the basic indicators of monitoring the digitalization of the economy, the values of the IDI information and communication technology development index were determined, and the dynamics of indicators of digitization of promising areas of economic activity were considered. It has been established that, being a symbiosis of the knowledge economy and innovation processes, the digital technology sector can be considered as a complex ecosystem, according to which innovation activity is transformed into dynamic sectoral directions combining different levels of interactions in a single digital space. In this context, innovative and digital transformations are directly related to changes in the economic system, the dominance of certain types of activities, which reflects the nature of the introduction of technological and industrial innovations that affect the prospects for further development of industry segments and depend on the directions and intensity of the spread of innovations, as an indicator ensuring the formation of new high-tech industries producing products with high additional value. As a result of the research, the author concludes that the generation of scientific and fundamental developments leads to the transition to network forms of interaction, which is reflected in the formation of new production, technological and social systems.
