This research examines the relationship between platelet counts and prognosis in heart failure with mildly reduced ejection fraction.
Analyzed patient data from a large-scale registry
Assessed platelet counts in relation to prognosis
Measured all-cause mortality rates over 30 months
Platelet counts <50/nL and 50-<100/nL associated with increased risk of mortality
Findings based on hospitalized patients with HFmrEF
Increased mortality risk noted at 30 months of follow-up
Abstract
In patients hospitalized with HFmrEF, platelet counts of <50/nL and 50- < 100/nL were independently associated with an increased risk of all-cause mortality at 30 months.
