Abstract

Two new species of Disteniidae are described from Ecuador: Cupecuara suturalis sp. nov.; and Novantinoe pallida sp. nov., the latter is included in a previous key. An updated key to species of Cupecuara Santos-Silva Cycnoderus (Cycnoderus) viridescens sp. nov. (Rhopalophorini); and Pygmodeon incertum sp. nov. (Tropidini, Compsina). A new province record for Rhopalophora casignata Martins Sympagus griseus sp. nov. (Acanthocinini); Tampulcher chartreusosus, gen. nov., sp. nov. (Acanthocinini), the genus is included in a previous key; Psapharoctes svachai sp. nov. (Acanthoderini); Macarulus granitus, gen. nov., sp. nov. (Apomecynini); Colobothea brevicornis sp. nov. (Colobotheini); Desmiphora (Desmiphora) lobata sp. nov. (Desmiphorini); Panegyrtes macareno sp. nov. (Desmiphorini); and Falsamblesthis rogueti sp. nov. (Forsteriini). A key to species of Psapharoctes Tavakilian & Néouze, 2007 is provided. A new province record and notes are provided for Anisopodus batesi Gilmour, 1965, and a new country record is provided for Leptostylus decipiens Bates, 1880 (Acanthocinini). Notes on Nyssodrysternum cotopaxi Monné & Tavakilian, 2011 (Acanthocinini) and Endybauna rapicara Martins & Galileo, 1991 (Hemilophini) are provided, the latter with a new province record. The probable synonymy between Desmiphora (Desmiphora) durantoni Tavakilian & Néouze, 2004 and D. (D.) mulsa Giesbert, 1998, as well as the possible transfer of these species, together with D. (D.) chemsaki Giesbert, 1998, to Obscenoides Nascimento & Santos-Silva, 2020, is commented in the remarks on the new species of Desmiphora (Desmiphora) Audinet-Serville, 1835. The species-group names of Panegyrtes basale Galileo & Martins, 1995 and P. apicale Martins & Galileo, 2005 are corrected.
