The article, based on the study of legislation, legal positions of the Supreme Courts of the Russian Federation and the analysis of judicial practice, raises issues of the need to improve the efficiency of courts when considering cases on the protection of social rights of citizens guaranteed by the Constitution of the Russian Federation. It points out the need to ensure (along with adversarial proceedings) an active role of the court in order to protect socially vulnerable participants in legal proceedings. In order to implement the model of socially oriented justice, proposals are put forward to improve civil legislation, introduce the institution of special social representation, normatively consolidate uniform approaches to the consideration of all cases without exception (regardless of industry affiliation), the subject of which is the protection of the fundamental rights of citizens, on the one hand, and the allocation of a special category of disputes — disputes in the field of social security, on the other hand.
