Geophysical magnetometry survey over 26ha of land West of Laindon Road, Billiricay. Magnitude Surveys was commissioned to assess the subsurface archaeological potential of c.26ha of pasture land, west of Laindon Road, Billericay, Essex. No anomalies of certain archaeological origin were identified; however, anomalies of an undetermined origin were detected in the survey area for which an archaeological origin cannot be discounted. Agricultural activity was identified in the form of ridge and furrow cultivation as well as some former field boundaries shown on historical mapping. Anomalies relating to Head clay, silt, sand and gravel superficial deposits were identified. Modern interference in the form of magnetic disturbance was limited to field edges, farm machinery, ferrous debris and a buried service.
