Abstract

The benefits of classical open-source software (OSS) are widely-recognized and immense -- a 2024 Harvard study estimated the total value of OSS at 8. 8 trillion on the demand-side. The Unitary Foundation takes on the realm of quantum open-source technology as our mission to support and cultivate. This talk will provide an overview of the value proposition of open-source quantum, and outline the primary ways the Unitary Foundation has cultivated an ecosystem of 5000+ quantum OS developers across 100+ countries and supported the development of over 100 new OS software libraries, resulting in 450+ research papers.
