The materials that comprise this framework consist of a set of learning objectives, some course descriptions for core courses, and a flexible course outline for an Introduction to Science course meant for undergraduate STEM or non-STEM majors. I consider it a work in progress and hope that users will be inspired to incorporate pieces of it, help me develop the missing parts, and think about how we might collaboratively create an open science minor at your institution. As I think about course development, my emphasis goes beyond content to the philosophy that we bring to our teaching. This is where open pedagogical practices become central. This integration of bringing an open pedagogical approach to the teaching of open science is key to this resource, and of all of the resources that are part of the collection for the OCTOPUS project. Consider also that any of the OCTOPUS projects and resources may be used to help develop an Open Science minor.
