Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as a transformative force in education by enhancing teaching, learning, curriculum development, and administrative efficiency. AI in education refers to the use of intelligent systems capable of learning, adapting, and decision-making to support educators, learners, and institutions. AI-enabled tools such as intelligent tutoring systems, learning management systems, robotics, analytics dashboards, and automated assessment platforms facilitate personalized learning, real-time feedback, and data-driven instructional strategies. In the Indian context, the integration of AI is further strengthened by the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which promotes early exposure to AI and digital competencies. While AI improves accessibility, inclusivity, productivity, and learning outcomes, it also raises concerns related to data privacy, bias, equity, cost, and reduced human interaction. This study highlights the multifaceted role of AI in the teaching-learning process, curriculum design, and school administration, while critically examining its challenges and future prospects. Responsible, ethical, and well-regulated implementation of AI is essential to ensure its positive and sustainable impact on education systems.
