Sleep is a fundamental physiological process essential for overall health and well-being (Carley andFarabi, 2016). Despite its importance, poor sleep quality and sleep disorders have become a globalpublic health concern due to factors such as anxiety, stress, lifestyle choices and medical conditions.Poor sleep quality impacts negatively on productivity, mental health and physical well-being. YogaNidra, an ancient guided meditation technique, has emerged as an effective non-pharmacologicalintervention for improving the quality of sleep. This review synthesizes findings from various studiesexamining the efficacy of Yoga Nidra in improving the quality of sleep among diverse populations, including individuals with insomnia, Parkinson’s disease, post-menopausal women, universitystudents, and cancer patients. Research highlights Yoga Nidra’s ability to facilitate deep relaxation, regulate stress hormones, and improve sleep parameters such as latency, efficiency, and duration.Given its accessibility and effectiveness, Yoga Nidra presents a holistic approach to sleep improvement, offering an alternative to conventional treatments.
