Mental health is an essential factor influencing students’ abilities to manage challenges effectively. Thisstudy aimed to examine the association between mental health and problem-solving ability amongundergraduate students. The study sample consisted of 260 undergraduates selected from variouseducational institutions in the Sangrur District. Standardized psychological instruments were used forthe data collection. Problem-solving ability was assessed using the Problem Solving Ability Testdeveloped by L. N. Dubey and revised by C. P. Mathur, while mental health was measured using theMental Health Scale (TSBA) developed by Talesara and Bano. The results revealed that the participantsgenerally exhibited favorable mental health and problem-solving abilities. Statistical analysis furtherindicated a positive and significant relationship between mental health and problem-solving abilities.This finding implies that students with better mental health are more effective at analyzing andresolving problems. This study emphasizes the importance of promoting mental well-being to enhanceproblem-solving skills in undergraduate students.
