An exploration of the exciting fusion of ancient Indian architectural wisdom with contemporary design, towards Sustainable Modernism. This study, guided by the concept of sustainability, explores how conventional architectural principles have transformed and evolved to fit contemporary environments. Through a comprehensive review of historical narratives, architectural exemplars, contemporary case studies like "Rajkumari Rajnavati Girl's School Jaisalmer by Diana Kellog Architects", "Krushi Bhavan Bhubaneswar by Studio Lotus" and Traditional Affinity House by Thought Parallel. A comparative analysis by taking the examples and examining the features of some well-known Indo-Islamic and Rajputana monuments. The study traces the trajectory of Indian architectural styles. Examine some well-known current ideas like minimalism, which creatively adapts traditional architectural principles, environmental practices, and ornamental designs for the modern era while utilizing cutting-edge technology. It analyzes integrating sustainable design principles, such as eco-conscious material usage, energy efficiency, and cultural preservation, into contemporary architectural projects. Furthermore, the research explores the challenges and opportunities presented by this paradigm shift, particularly in balancing tradition with innovation. By unraveling these dynamics, the paper seeks to elucidate the potential of merging traditional wisdom with modern design approaches to create sustainable and culturally resonant built environments in India.
