ABSTRACT Microwave (MW)‐assisted organic synthesis of various heterocyclic groups is an efficient and environmentally friendly synthetic route, which is becoming an effective tool for green chemistry methods. The synthesis of highly substituted imidazole derivatives has been accomplished from various substituted anilines, glyoxals, and ammonium thiocyanate using microwave irradiation within very short reaction times of 2 min. This method provided a very good technique in modern organic synthesis to prepare various substituted imidazoles in excellent yield under minimum reaction time.
