historic building recording The dwelling contains traces of its domestic environment from Jacobean times and at regular intervals to the present day, both in the structural elements and the much smaller fixtures and fittings, and include a reused principal-joist typical of the C16 with broad chamfers and fillet and hollow stops, C17 panelling reused as a door, and C18 door hinges Surviving features before the mid C19 suggest a long period of growth and the inevitable loss of fabric with each new reordering, old furnishings were replaced. More recently, in 1974, as part of a major programme of rebuild and refurbishment the outhouse to the south was replaced by the existing double-garage and loft together with a new porch on the south side of the house, both constructed of coursed Lias rubble. All the windows appear to have been renewed at this time
