The Camp David and Oslo Accords were pivotal peace agreements signed by Arab andIsraeli leaders during the closing of the 20th century, with the brokering of the United States ofAmerica. Through a comprehensive analysis of the agreements made at Camp David and Oslo, Iassess the impact of the agreements on the development of the broader Arab-Israeli peaceprocess. More precisely, I address the critical question of how did the Camp David and OsloAccords fail in their efforts to create lasting peace between Palestinians and Israelis? In doing so,I argue that both the Camp David and Oslo Accords broke down due to the negotiation parties’ stark inability to adequately address the fundamental issues of Palestinian statehood, theexpansion of Israeli settlements, the displacement of Palestinians, and the status of Jerusalem.
