Presentations on the screening of high-risk people for cardiovascular diseases (CVD) and diabetes and their risk factors given at the JACARDI work package (WP) 8 Training and capacity building workshop on November 24-25, 2025, at the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) in Helsinki, Finland, and at the JACARDI WP8 event in October 2025 in Madrid, Spain. JACARDI is the Joint Action on Cardiovascular diseases and Diabetes of the European Union that supports European countries in reducing the burden of CVD and diabetes, at both individual and health system levels. The WP8 in JACARDI is dedicated to the screening of high-risk people for CVD and diabetes. The included presentations cover a diverse range of topics related to screening of CVD and diabetes such as high-risk vs. population approach, health literacy, burden of CVD and diabetes, screening definitions and protocols, screening participant recruitment, risk assessment tools, patient pathways and how to move from practice to policy.
