Abstract

This analytical study examines the psychological and systemic impact of action-camera technology ("GoPro Cybernetics") on extreme athletes. Using the biographies of Gigi Wu, Uli Emanuele, and Hannes Arch, the paper explores the fusion of subject and technology, the stimulation of the limbic system, and the resulting "time-theft" that leads to fatal safety risks. It argues for a methodical return to written documentation and scientific archiving (Zenodo, Archive.org) as a form of resistance against the fleeting and dangerous attention economy of social media platforms.
