Many studies have shown that Manilkara zapota (M. zapota) plants have various pharmacological effects, including antioxidant, antitumor, antidiabetic, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antidiarrheal, and antibacterial activities. To our knowledge, there has been no published bibliometric analysis data on the pharmacological activity of M. zapota. This study aims to visualize publications on the pharmacological activity of M. zapota including exploration, trends, and future developments through bibliometric analysis. Publications on the pharmacological activity of M. zapota were obtained from the Scopus database, screening data were made in CSV format. Data obtained from Scopus for the period 2004 to 2024, there were 117 publications that were considered relevant and included in the bibliometric analysis. The publication trend related to the pharmacological effects of M. zapota for the period 2019 to 2024 has increased significantly, after 2021, the trend shows a consistent increase, with the number of publications reaching 15 articles in 2024. Research focuses mostly on the results of experimental-based preclinical trials and studies on how bioactive compound components affect the pharmacological effects of M. zapota. It also includes the development of natural products for pharmaceutical preparations and broader biomedical use through pharmaceutical technology.
