In response to the psychological issues arising from today’ s fast lifestyle, this paper hopes to explore a path from ancient Chinese literature that can comfort the minds of modern people and help cultivate good moral character. This study mainly proceeds in the following ways: first, it analyzes the conceptions of Confucianism and Taoism, and examines influence. Then, it provides a detailed analysis of representative works-The Chronicle of a Blood Merchant and the writings of Tao Yuanming. The protagonist Xu San Guan in The Chronicle of a Blood Merchant embodies Confucian values; his kindness reflects the idea of “a person of benevolence loves others. In contrast, Tao Yuanming’s works are filled with Taoist thought-he is indifferent to fame and fortune, and expresses a longing for nature. Confucianism and Taoism have been passed down through generations, and these traditional philosophies continue to thrive in the new era.
