All the levels of formal education from elementary to tertiary have a vital role for national development. Technology has been given a lot of importance in education. We are moving towards the goal of gender equity in education sector but still some road blocks are hindering the progress of women. Even in the era of women empowerment, the larger section of womenfolk across the globe is neglected in all spheres. Moreover, the degree of women empowerment is diverse across India. West Bengal is a 4th largest State of India in terms of population. In West Bengal, 77.08% is the total literacy rate as per 2011 census where is 71.16% of female and 82.67% of male. Now it is quite pertinent to reexamine where West Bengal stands at present in terms of women empowerment from the lens of education. It also seeks to unpack the dominant barriers to women empowerment through education with an objective of navigating some viable pathways to their empowerment to the fullest.
