The review reveals a number of positive theoretical, legal, organizational and other aspects of the current state and development of the probation institute in the Russian Federation, described in the monograph by Pavel Vladimirovich Teplyashin. Attention is focused on the author's arguments about the formation and development of probation legislation and probation law. It is concluded that the reviewed manuscript of the monograph "Probation: theoretical and legal foundations and research problems" meets the requirements for such works, can be published and further used in the educational process and scientific activities.
