This document is a letter from the California State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) to Vandenberg Space Force Base (VSFB) regarding the National Register (NR) eligibility of archaeological sites CA-SBA-3535/H. The letter is in response to the Department of the Air Force's (DAF) submission of a Determination of Eligibility (DOE) that argues the site is not eligible for listing on the NR. The letter conveys that the SHPO understands that the resource does not retain data potential to meet the threshold of "important information". However, the SHPO notes that the prehistoric component of the site that has also been determined not eligible for the NR and therefore want to ensure that the Native American Tribe were notified of this determination. Therefore, in order to conclude the consultation and concur with the determination of non-eligibility, the SHPO has requested that the DAF provide documentation that the Tribe has been consulted. Upon receipt of that documentation the SHPO will subsequently concur with the determination and conclude the consultation.
