This document is am archaeological testing report. As part of the restoration of SLC-4, modifications were made to Fallback Area 17, situated east of Old Surf Road between Dix and Plato Roads. Archaeological and Native American monitoring of grading activities resulted in the identification of possible prehistoric cultural remains. Archaeological sensitivity was indicated by the presence of two sandstone cobbles found in the road cut. A limited archaeological evaluation of the area in the vicinity of the cultural materials involved: excavation of 14 STPs and two controlled 1x1m test units; intensive pedestrian survey of the sensitive area, and mapping of surface artifacts, boundaries of cultural debris, and subsurface test locations.
