Rapid urbanization has altered people’s lifestyles in the modern era. Stress is making acute and chronic disorders like Ardhavabhedaka more common as a result of lifestyle changes. Ardhavabhedaka (Migraine) is a condition associated with moderate to severe headaches with a throbbing type of pain that lasts from hours to days. Usually accompanied by symptoms like nausea and vomiting , fatigue and occasionally giddiness, it starts on one side of the head and spreads to both temporal and occipital regions1,4,5,6. Ardhavabhedaka can be correlated with migraine, due to its cardinal features of a half-sided headache. According to Acharya Charaka , Ardhavabhedaka have Vata-Kapha dosha1,5. The management of these dosha can be done through Pathyadi shadanga kwatha. METHOD- The chief complaint of a 45 year old female patient was that she had been experiencing unilateral headache on and off three times a month, occasionally more than three times ,for the past four year. Headache alternate between occurring on the right and left side occasionaly followed by nausea and vomiting. The patient was treated with Pathyadi shadanga kwatha in a dose of 50 ml twice a day ,which will be continued for 14 days. RESULT-The patient experienced a reduction in headache symptoms and frequency, followed by complete resolution of symptoms during follow-up observations.
