This article is devoted to the topic of achieving innovative economic growth as a priority of the economic development strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Achieving innovative economic growth in the country ensures the strengthening of economic power and competitiveness at the current stage of global economic development. Creating favorable conditions for the innovation environment is a complex process that requires significant efforts and resources, with the “creative” role primarily belonging to the government. However, innovation activities are not yet the main driver of economic growth in the Republic of Azerbaijan, and appropriate conditions for improving innovation in the country have not been fully formalized. From this perspective, the article analyzes the innovation potential and existing challenges in these areas and suggests several proposals for improvement.
