The KOGNETIK Methodology formalizes the first operator-based scientific method for systems whose internal rules change under recurrence. Classical methodology assumes structural invariance; cognitive, biological, artificial, and social systems violate this assumption. This work defines a reflexive, transparent, and domain-general operator grammar based on the canonical KOGNETIK operators: R — Recurrence S — Structure Ψ = ∂S/∂R — Structural sensitivity to recurrence L = 1/Ψ — Kognetic load Q — Sequence operator U — Update operator K — Kognem (minimal structural mutation) The methodology introduces: the methodological law: science in reflexive domains is the measurement of ∂S/∂R, a 10-step operator cycle for conducting reflexive research, a full transparency protocol (operator, metric, error, autological, invariance, process transparency), the definition of papers as operator artefacts rather than semantic arguments, empirical identifiability criteria for Ψ, ΔS, ΔR, and Kogneme, cross-domain mappings for biological, artificial, cognitive, organizational, and governance systems. The document is itself autological:it applies the same operator law that it formalizes, making the methodology a functional manifestation of the system it describes. THE KOGNETIK METHODOLOGY establishes a reflexive scientific standard for any system whose structure evolves through repetition — providing a unified, measurable, and transparent foundation for next-generation research in cognition, AI, biology, social systems, governance, and consciousness studies. Process, not state:Reflexivity specifies a transformation rule rather than a content or level. Domain-independent operator:Applicable across biological, cognitive, artificial, social, industrial, and geophysical systems. Non-ascriptive and empirically testable:Ψ enables comparative analysis of systems via observable structure and recurrence. Higher-order phenomena as specifications:Learning, adaptation, consciousness, governance, and identity are structured regimes of Ψ.
