ABSTRACT This research comprehensively examines a stochastic SIQS epidemic model, incorporating a general incidence rate . In order to better understand the intricate dynamics of the disease, we investigate using a stochastic model for the COVID‐19 epidemic, which includes a compartment designed to represent quarantined populations. Specifically, we demonstrate that a generalized stochastic threshold determines the conditions under which the disease either goes extinct or persists. We delve into the critical scenario when . Finally, we illustrate our analytical findings through a comprehensive series of computer simulations.
