ABSTRACT Surface reflections, front surface depth of curvature, and magnification of the patient's eyes are considered significant sources of poor appearance in convex spectacle lens corrections. The influence on appearance of eyewire size, lens curvature, pantoscopic angle, vertex distance, and anti‐reflection coatings is analyzed. Emphasis is placed on methods of minimizing poor spectacle lens appearance, while maintaining satisfactory optical performance.
