For studies of the middle atmosphere (10-100 km), a transportable Doppler lidar for Mie, Rayleigh and resonance measurements has been extended to allow simultaneous measurements in multiple fields of view using optimised lens telescopes and a beam switching mechanism. Novel processing techniques based on the instrument's unique frequency-scanning measurement method are introduced, allowing accurate wind, aerosol and temperature retrievals. Results from test campaigns are compared with model data and Aeolus satellite measurements with good agreement, confirming the performance of the system.
