AbstractPresent research assessed the pest capture rates, species specificity, environmental impact and cost-effectiveness of pheromone and sticky traps. Pheromone traps, which use species-specific attractants, proved more effective in targeting lepidopteran and coleopteran pests. Sticky traps, on the other hand, captured a broader range of insects, including nontarget and beneficial species. ANOVA analysis revealed no significant differences in insect counts between yellow and blue sticky traps across canopy levels. Likewise, variations in fruit fly captures over time in pheromone traps were not statistically significant.
